Week 283 Update

We got some exercise in this week, in spite of the heavy workload. On Saturday we walked to lunch and then to Wall Mart and back home, for a total of 6.6 miles.

After working over 7 days straight getting the new message board set up, Dotti and I decided to take couple of days off and pay a visit to Cannon Beach on the coast. We didn't go online much except to make sure that the new boards were running okay, and we did a lot of walking. The motel where we stayed was high on a hill and it was a mile and a half each way to the far end of town. We also walked around the shops naturally, and that was a lot more walking. I had on my backpack so that I could carry any of the purchases that we might make along the way.

We walked over 3 miles on Tuesday after we arrived, and Wednesday we did another loop of at least 3 miles, and then did a couple of more miles on Thursday at Seaside.

The ocean was beautiful and the weather was unbelievable for the coast: blue skies and sunshine. On our last visit to Cannon Beach the rain was intense and unrelenting. This time we didn't need our raincoats or umbrellas even once.

It was a nice break before heading back to work with "recharged batteries." Back home we on Friday evening we took a walk to Wall Mart again to get in another 5 miles of walking. We definitely got in our exercise this week. However, we had excellent weather to work with. It was clear and cool. Soon it will be wet, and I don't know how much walking we will be getting.

I ate really low this week (averaged 29.12 points) and I dropped a pound, down to 198.0 pounds. However, my average weight for the week was 199.86. Even with all that walking my metabolism seems to be much slower than it was a year ago.

5 years, 156 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
