An Angel's Song

It seemed a maze, of endless walls,
You wander through each day.
The countless tries, and countless falls,
You couldn’t find your way.

Still you smiled, while you cried,
The pain was so intense,
You failed each time that you tried,
To climb outside your fence.

Dot, I ached for all your pain,
I suffered right with you.
You tried to lose, instead you’d gain,
No matter what you’d do.

For years of struggle, and plateau
For scales that stabbed your heart,
I held you in my arms just so,
And said we’d never part.

No matter what, way deep inside,
You held an angel’s soul,
That shown out brightly far and wide
That touched and made me whole.

From way down deep, inside that pit,
My angel struggled still,
And then a spark of light was lit,
A path led up the hill!

An engine headed for the top,
You knew that now you could,
Nothing now could make you stop.
From doing what you should.

You learned the plan, and followed it,
You exercised like mad.
You planned, and counted every bit,
Of all the food you had.

The scale suddenly made a turn,
It now became your friend!
You found your pounds began to burn,
You’re lighter at week’s end!

Day by day and week by week,
You journeyed up the hill.
A mountaineer straight to the peak,
I marvel at it still.

And Dot, you precious lovely one,
When you reached the top,
You kept right on, like you’d begun,
Without a well earned stop.

You shared your story, helping folks
Who had some weight to shed.
And many friends you sought to coax,
Upon the path ahead.

Watching friends climb clear to the top,
Was joy to your sweet heart,
Still not done, no you would not stop,
So then what did you start?

The finest web page that I’ve seen,
And now you've done it, wow!
You’re helping thousands, move to lean,
And healthy form, right now.

Oh Dot, my heart is filled right up,
To see you smile within.
Your weight is gone, but you remain,
The best that’s ever been!

Dotti I Love You!
(Set to the tune of Matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof)

verse one
Lucky, oh lucky, is what you’ve made me,
Really made me, truly made me.
Lucky, oh lucky, is what you’ve made me,
It's clear for the world to see!

verse two
Wake every morning to your happy smile,
Oh what a smile, beautiful smile!
All through the day I remember your smile
It brings me up all the while.

chorus
Oh Dotti, I love you so much
And you know Babe that I always will!
Dotti I so treasure your touch,
With you I can climb each and every hill!

verse three
Your voice fills each day with beautiful sound;
I love the sound, wonderful sound.
It’s glorious Babe to have you around,
The best thing I've ever found!

Chorus
Oh Dotti, I love you so much
And you know Babe that I always will!
Dotti I so treasure your touch,
Together we'll climb each and every hill!

verse one revisited
Lucky, oh lucky, is what you’ve made me,
Really made me, truly made me.
Lucky, oh lucky, is what you’ve made me,
It's clear for the world to see!

Dotti
(Set to the tune of Greensleeves)

verse one
Each golden morn, I see my girl, her smile makes waking a joy to me.
When I come home in the even time, she’s there at the door to greet me.

chorus
Dot, Dot our life is sweet, the gift of love you have made complete.
You will know that I still love you, as long as you hear my heart beat.

verse two
If I should live to a ripe old age, with hair as white as the fresh new snow.
I will treasure each hour with you, and each will still make my love grow.

chorus
Dot, Dot how can you be, so sweet, so kind eternally.
Oh girl my words can't express, the feelings I have for my Dotti.

IF YOU ALWAYS DO WHAT YOU ALWAYS DID
YOU'LL ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU ALWAYS GOT!

One Day At A Time, No Guilt and Move On
