Welcome

Hi Everyone! Can you believe it is officially summer? I can tell you the thermometer outside is letting me know summer has officially arrived by showing a very hot 93 degrees!

As I sit here pondering on what to talk about I wonder how many of you are on this Journey for YOU or for someone/something else? Think about it for a minute. Why did you start this Journey? Why do you want to lose weight? Did you decide to embark on this Journey or did someone push you to start?

I know from past experiences that no matter what anyone has said to me I was the one who had to make the decision to embark on this Lifelong Journey. As I look back in time I can remember some very definite times when I should have had the “cue” so to speak, to lose weight and get healthy. When I couldn’t fit on the seat of the rollercoaster with my son I was mortified! Was I mortified enough to do something about it? NO! Instead two more years went by before I started Weight Watchers for the first time.

Why is that? You’d be a millionaire if you knew, that’s for sure. I think it’s because we are very complex human beings who happen to be caretakers of everyone but ourselves. We get so wrapped up in life and others that we put ourselves on the back burner. We always say, “next week I’ll start my diet” or “I’m not that overweight”. It’s called denial and it’s a place we all know well.

When I started my first Journey it was all about ME! This was a hard concept for me but I knew if I was going to succeed it would have to be for ME, no one else. I told myself I was going to make it to Goal and nothing was going to stop me. I got all my exercise in and I made sure I took care of me first. Guess what? I ended up feeling great, losing weight, gaining tons of self-confidence, meeting lots of wonderful new friends, trying new foods, creating Dotti’s Weight Loss Zone AND taking care of others in my life. Yep, amazing, huh? Who knew?

This 2nd Journey back to Goal is the same – it’s all about ME! It is not a Journey done for anyone but ME. I have a wonderful support system in place: my wonderful Al, my husband of 30+ years; my awesome son, LeRoy; my bestest friend, Tammy and her family and all of you!

Please, do yourself a favor and write down all the reasons WHY you are on this Journey and then write this in big letters –

I’M WORTH IT! THIS is MY JOURNEY!

After all, it is YOUR Journey, no one else's. Your Journey is a very unique Journey which will bring you so many good things and lots of great new friends along the way. You are not alone, NEVER. We are all out here wrapping our arms around you and giving you lots of Hugs!

"Enjoying Weight Loss"

The weight loss battle is over 90% mental. If your attitude is right, and you are completely on board in your mind with your weight loss program, you will succeed. We often find that it is our own inner self that is at work trying to trip us up. This is why hypnosis can be a tremendous help. It has helped me, both to quit smoking, and to start back on my way to goal with a strong will to succeed.

I use Dr. Roberta’s Enjoying Weight Loss Hypnosis CDs as one of my "tools" on my lifelong Journey to a healthier me. They continue to be an irreplaceable part of my Journey back to goal.

The Hypnosis Network is a reliable organization with nothing but top line hypnotists working in the program. Each of them has years of training and experience, and is an expert in his particular area. I can recommend them to you with no reservations, because you will be getting top of the line service when you work with The Hypnosis Network. Their guarantee is rock solid, and you will be free from worry about the product. Either it works, or you get your money back. They are honorable, and trustworthy, professional in every way. I absolutely would not recommend them if they hadn't of worked for me.

Click Here to go directly to their site and find out more about the Hypnosis Network, and how you can order your CDs.

I have found that when I use the CDs regularly, I always do well. It is only when I don't listen to them for too long that I find myself slipping into old patterns. For me, if I use them, I succeed, every time.

If you would like to read more on how they helped me please visit our Enjoying Weight Loss Review Page.

My Journey Update

http://www.dwlz.com/dotcomeback/dotti2goal.html

Wow, looking back at my update page I see I’m not doing very well on the Weekly Update thing! Writing has never been my #1 love so I am having to train myself to do it. Thanks for bearing with me. Al always makes sure my graph and thermometer are updated.

I have lost a pound and a half over the last month and a half. Al and I took a trip to Spokane to attend Jamie’s high school graduation and of course to see our little Hunter and the rest of the little ones. It was awesome! I’m so very proud of her. We arrived in Spokane on Friday, June 9th and were planning on staying until Tuesday, June 20th. Plans were changed when Al and I came down with a nasty “bug”. We came home on Thursday, June 15th and have been trying to recuperate ever since. The “bug” is still with us but I think we are getting a little better.

I can tell my body has not been getting any exercise but hope to get back on the treadmill as soon as I feel well enough. I was doing quite well before this “bug” hit me. It’s amazing how fast you get used to no exercise! Scary!

I continue to not focus on the scale, except for my weekly weigh-ins. I am instead focusing on making the best choices I can, day by day, hour by hour, minute by minute. I love the Weight Watcher’s Points system. It is not a diet but a Lifestyle. My Enjoying Weight Loss hypnosis CDs are a continuing tool on my Journey. If I feel myself swaying or struggling I listen to a session to get my head back in the game.

Thank you to all of you out there who have sent me emails of support. They truly do make my day and always put a smile on my face.

A Smile a Day

Since our last visit have you had the opportunity to share some laughter with good friends? How about just brightening up someone's life with your great smile? Your smile may be just the thing someone needs to give them a little sunshine in their life. Let me share a very special story with you. I call it…

A Smile a Day

This is the story of how one person can make a difference in someone else's life without even knowing it. I was that person.

Years ago I was working in the bakery department at a large grocery store. My job required me to be at work very early in the morning, about 5 am. The store was open during those hours but there were very few employees working at that time. We had one front-end girl who took care of checkout. Her name was Brenda. I saw Brenda almost every morning when I went in at 5 am. I didn’t know her well since she did not work in my department. I did notice however that she was a very sad woman. She didn’t smile much. She was very efficient at her job but gave nothing emotional of herself when dealing with the customers.

Each day I went to work and walked past Brenda I said, “Hi” or “Good Morning” to her with a cheerful smile. It really wasn’t anything ‘special’ on my part since I always greeted my co-workers with a smile. I truly believe smiling and sharing yourself is one of the greatest “highs” in life. It opens so many wonderous doors you would otherwise miss going through. Your smile, whether you know it or not, is very powerful.

A few years later I left my job at the grocery store. There was a fun going away party for myself and my son, LeRoy, who also worked at the grocery store. Many of my co-workers came to wish me well, Brenda being among them. She came up to me and handed me a small gift and said “Thank you”. I didn’t have much time to visit with her at that time. When I got home I opened her gift and inside was a wooden teddy bear with a ribbon on it. Included was a note, “You will never know how much those morning greetings and smiles meant to me. I was going through such a rough time.” My eyes teared up and I just smiled, knowing that somehow I had made someone else's life a little nicer knowing someone cared.

Trying smiling more. You’ll be surprised at how much better you feel too!

Food Finds

For another great dessert that is already prepared and delicious why not try Weight Watchers, http://www.weightwatchers.com/ Smart Ones Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Sundae [170 cal/3 g fat/1 g fiber/32 g carbs]. It is so delicious and brings back the memories of baking cookies, without the calories, of course!

One of my favorite breakfast foods is a cup of Trader Joes Soy & Flax Clusters, a sweet and crunchy blend of Flaxseed Clusters, Flakes & Soy Nuts [190 cal/3 g fat/6 g fiber/38 g carbs] It’s delicious, chewy and satisfying. A serving size is 1 cup.

Costco just came out with a delicious granola, Nature’s Path Organic FlaxPlus Granola [140 cal/5 g fat/3 g fiber/21 g carbs] A serving size is 1/2 cup. I love a 1/4 cup of this mixed in my yogurt for a healthy snack or dessert.

Here’s a great quick dinner – I’m always on the lookout for those - Stouffer’s Skillets, Homestyle Beef [300 cal/11 g fat/6 g fiber/32 g carbs] A serving size is 1/2 package so it’s great for two people.

I’m a Cool Whip lover so you can imagine how happy I was to find French Vanilla Cool Whip [25 cal/1.5 g fat/0 g fiber/2 g carbs] A serving size is 2 tbsp.
