Week 206 Update

This week was a blur, and suddenly it was time for my weigh-in for week 206, at Dotti’s Weight Loss Zone Fifth Annual Conference. It was 06:00 in the morning and Mr. Scale said that I weighed 185.5 pounds.

Things had moved on their own, with their own force it seemed all week long. The weekend before conference I had the pager coverage, while I was loaded up with a bunch of things to do. Would I be able to finish up what I had left?

Saturday - After weighing in at 185.5, I had high hopes that I would be able to record some of the music that I needed to finish before DWLZ-V arrived. But alas it was not meant to be. I was barely up when the pager went off and I was called in to work for 4 hours onsite on an implanter that had gone down. Well, that was only half the day, perhaps I could salvage the rest?

No. Just as I got on the road heading home from the customer site, my pager went off again! It was a call for me to order a part, and since I was already on that side of town, I dropped by our office and took care of it from there. When I finally got home, it was late in the afternoon, and the pager kept me busy as I ended up doing phone assists for the rest of the day. Even in the evening, I was waiting for another page because the customer never got back to me to tell me if his machine was working or not after the last phone call. It was a completely wasted day for what I had hoped to accomplish.

I had managed to get a normal breakfast in before things got going, and Dotti through a few things together to get me through lunch. In the evening I had nice little meal with Dotti, and for the day I consumed 45.0 points total.

Sunday - Sunday I woke up weighing 185.5 pounds once more. My hopes for getting things done for the conference were low, however, the pager didn’t go off all day long! I was amazed.

I was able to record the final couple of songs for the conference so that they would be up on the web page by the time I actually sang them at conference, and so I could connect up a link to them on the conference page right afterwards, for anyone who might like to hear them. The conference web page was put into final order and things were about as set as I could make them beforehand.

My eating was pretty standard stuff, and I ended up eating 45.0 points for the day.

Monday - Work? I had to go to work on conference week Monday? Yep. I did. I woke up weighing 188.0 pounds, but that was because of my meal that was high in sodium the night before. It was actually one of the lowest point weekends that I had had in some time.

Fortunately the workday was light, and before I knew it, I was out at lunch walking 2.06 miles. It was a short walk, and I hadn’t walked in the morning, but at least I got out there.

By the end of the day I had eaten 32.0 points.

Tuesday - I weighed 187.0 pounds. I got to work early in the morning and I walked 4.23 miles. I then walked 3.17 miles at lunch. Plenty of exercise that day.

This was really the final night for Dotti and I before Zonies began to arrive for the conference. We did the final touch up on our plans (poor Dotti had been really busy getting everything together), and got ready for the downhill part of the upcoming rollercoaster ride.

I ended up eating 44.5 points for the day.

Wednesday - Here it was the day of the earlier than early arrivers day, and I was off to work again, after weighing 189.0 pounds. My evening meal the day before had been "heavy" in that it was food that tended to stay with me in the morning (large serving of brown rice, tamales, refried beans, cottage cheese) but my total points for the day was not higher than normal. So, I was not concerned with the weigh-in, other than I did not want it to go up any more than it had for the next day.

I arrived at work early and I got to walking. I completed 4.23 miles. At lunch, I walked another 2.4 miles, and then in the evening after work, I knew that Dotti would be tied up with some conference related items and would not be home if I arrived at my normal time. So, I walked another 3.98 miles before I left for home: over 10 miles on the day just before conference official got going.

I ended up eating 32.0 points for the day, and was looking forward to my last day of work for the week, and the evening meal on Thursday where the "Early Arrivals" would be joining up at Red Robin.

Thursday - I weighed 185.5 in the morning. I head off for work early, but I didn’t do any walking for the entire day. I got on the road as early as I could after work, and on the way home, I called Dotti. Although she had checked into the Heathman Hotel already, was back home visiting with Kate who was one of the early arrivals. So, I swung by the house, to catch up with them. Soon we were off to the hotel and the start of the festivities.

It was a fun evening welcoming old friends back, and making new friends, and enjoying a very nice meal. I had a steak, and racked up 24.0 points for the meal, and accumulated 54.0 points for the entire day.

Friday - The first official day of the conference, and I weighed 186.0 pounds. I started off the day with a real treat: walking 4.0 miles with Tammy, our dear friend from Spokane. Okay, she and her husband Jim are more than just friends in our book, they are FAMILY!!! It was a nice cool 47° and we walked the 4.0 mile path that I had measured off for Tom for DWLZ–III. (Tom was very much missed during this conference, since he couldn’t make it.) After the walk, Jim, Tammy, Dotti and I all went to breakfast at Sharis. It was delicious, and having our best friends as company made it even better.

The day ran by quickly and before long we were setting up for the first session of the Conference. People signed in and then I took their pictures. (Click here to visit the conference yearbook pictures.) We then took the group pictures got into the evening festivities. Click here to visit the First Session pictures. I sang the song, with a new verse, that I have opened all the other conferences with that we have attended: HOW DO YOU LIKE DOT NOW? (MP3 or Real Audio) and we then had a great OP meal. Dotti looked beautiful in her dress and the fun was underway!

By the end of the day I had only eaten 35.0 points, and that led to my weigh-in of 185.5 this week.

3 years, 347 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
