Week 165 Update

It was 59º, the sun was streaming through the window, from just over the mountaintop, and across the South Umpqua River, when I finally woke up at 06:55 and stepped up on Mr. Scale. He said, "186.0 pounds!"

When this week started we were with Jim and Tammy, and at its end, we were with my mom. It was great seeing our favorite people all within a week!

We got in some exercise and a lot of enjoyable visiting. It was a great week, and having Monday off in celebration of the Fourth of July made for a short workweek as well.

Eating and Weight – I overdid it on points on Saturday, when we went to the Red Robin restaurant and I had a "Monster Burger" (I ate about two-thirds of it) and a "Monster Shake." I had weighed in at 184.0 that morning and I hadn't had a splurge in a while. For the day I ended up eating 66.5 points. For the rest of the week I pulled back to normal, and ended up averaging 48.43 points-per-day. My weight moved up two pounds this week, however, that is not surprising since I only averaged 39.36 points-per-day the week before.

Since my weigh-in is well within my target range, and my average weight for the week is 185.43, within a pound of my target weight, I am content with that.

Exercise – I didn't do a lot of walking this week, but we did have a great time doing a hike on Sunday! Jim and Tammy joined Dotti and I on a Coon Family Hiking Club hike to Hardy Falls, Rodney Falls – featuring the Pool of Winds – and then on up Beacon Rock. We got some great exercise, and had a tremendous amount of fun as well. We walked 4.3 miles while moving upward (and back down) about 1200 feet.

On Tuesday I took a 2-mile walk at work in 26:18. In the evening Dotti and I walked 3.1 miles in 52:40. Unfortunately, that was the last of my walking for the week, because I wasn't feeling up to any more.

Water – On Sunday I only got in 3 cups of water, but on all the other days this week I drank at least 6 cups, and I had a couple of 15-cup days. I averaged drinking 73.14 ounces (9.1 cups) per day, which puts me above my minimum target range of 6-8 cups-per-day.

Week's Evaluation – Overall it was a good week; my weight was where I wanted it to be, and only crept up on one day to 187. My average weight was within one pound of my target weight. Exercise was not great but we did get in a great hike, and some walking. My water consumption was good. All things considered, I feel this week was a success.

3 years, 60 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
