Week 166 Update

It was dark outside, and 64º at 04:30 when I stepped up on Mr. Scale and he said, "185.0 pounds!" I turned around and crawled back into bed.

I started the week at my mom's house, and it was very nice having a visit with her. She is doing well, all things considered. She is walking just about every day and eating well. The doctor has been very satisfied with her progress after her triple-bypass surgery. It was really nice having some time together with her to visit.

Dotti has been very strong on program this week, and I have reaped the benefits because we have been eating some awesome meals in the evening! I haven't had this much fresh fruit, corn on the cob, etc. in a quite a while. I have really looked forward dinners all week long! I really enjoy seeing her like this again. When she quit smoking it was devastating to her focus for the program and she was drifting for all this time, only briefly awaking to struggle with her eating periodically. Her weight drifted up, stabilized, and then drifted up some more. This week was not like that at all. She was right on program all the way, and I was excited to see the old Dotti back! She was even on the phone with others working to inspire them. It is that spirit that led her to create Dotti's Weight Loss Zone, and it is a beauty to watch in action. She is really special!!!

Eating and Weight – This week I averaged eating 42.71 points per day, and my average weight fell from 185.43 to 184.07. My weight fluctuated from 186.0 to 182.0, but on 4 of the 7 days I weighed 184.0, very close to my average for the week. My highest point day was last Sunday when I ate 55.0 points. My weight fell to 182.0 on Tuesday morning, but it was just a transient change, because I was back up to 184.0 on Wednesday.

Exercise – I started to walk a little this week once more. But I didn't do too much. On Tuesday I walked 2.3 miles in 44:32 and then Dotti and I walked 3.1 miles in 55:28 in the evening. On Wednesday morning I walked 2.0 miles, before work, in 29:17. My aerobic points only totaled 15.30 for the week, and I only walked 7.4 miles for the week.

I did get in to see my doctor on my abdominal problem and he has pointed me in the direction of a specialist. We will have to see what tests he will run when I can get in to see him.

Water – For water this week I was lower than usual. At Mom's house I didn't drink as much as I should have and that brought my daily average down near the bottom of my minimum range. I averaged drinking 51.4 ounces (6.4 cups) per day, but that is in my target range.

Week's Evaluation – My weight was good this week, and eating was not a challenge. Exercise was still restricted, but I hope that is just temporary. My water consumption was good. I feel this week was a success.

3 years, 67 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
