Week 72 Update

I am writing this on Dotti’s computer, and from our new house, and I am a very tired man this morning. I have literally moved thousands of pounds of books, as well as various other household items, and I still have more to move today. Fortunately, nearly all of the books that I have to move today are at ground level in our storage shed. I am done moving books down the stairs and that is a very good thing. I am sore and aching and would love to just relax today after two days of intense activity. Maybe I will be able to relax a bit tomorrow before heading off to work the day after.

Today, Dotti’s brother is supposed to come by and give us a hand with the big stuff, and the storage shed. That will be very much appreciated. So far we have done it all alone. Our garage is slowly filling up with stuff that will be moved into our house over the next few days or weeks, as necessary.

In spite of it all, my weight seems to be holding steady. My average weight for the week actually fell over a pound, and that was good to see; especially since by points per day jumped up 7 points.

This is the most exercise I have had in quite some time! On Thursday, I was hauling book boxes down the stairs one at a time and loading them into the van. On Friday, I had a hand truck and was taking them down the stairs 4 or 5 at a time. My back was aching on Thursday night, and my arms and shoulders were aching last night (and still are this morning). I am estimating my aerobic points for the two days at 20.0 points each day; which is the equivalent of two sessions of racquetball 1 hour and ten minutes each for both Thursday and Friday. With the hour in the morning, loading the van with heavy furniture items and book boxes, and the 4 or 5 hours of intense moving of book boxes on Thursday, I was certainly as tired as I would have been playing two hours of racquetball, if not more so. On Friday, I actually worked even harder, and longer, so I am probably estimating low for that day. (Just surviving this intense activity is something that I am happy to be doing.)

On Wednesday, I actually took a walk for change at lunch. The day was just too perfect to ignore. It was sunny but cool. I only walked 1.3 miles but it felt good.

1 year, 139 days OP, a lifetime to follow!
