Week 116 Update

At 05:00 AM with the temperature sitting around 60°, I stepped up on Mr. Scale, and he said, "183.0 pounds!" That was a squeaker.

It wasn't due to lack of trying on my part on Friday. I ate 78 points, but the scale still held steady at 183.0 this morning. I will just have to work extra hard this week to make sure that I move the scale back up again. (Monday we are heading to the Clark County Fair, and that should provide me with some opportunities to do just that.)

For eating this week, I started off on Saturday weighing 184.0. That is a good place to be, so I ate what I felt was the correct number of points to maintain there: 48. It worked, and I weighed 184.0 again on Sunday. Sunday we were out and about, and I didn't have a normal lunch. My dinner was only 8.0 points and when all was totaled up, I had only eaten 33 points. The scale didn't seem to mind however, and I weighed 184.5 on Monday morning. I ate 48.0 points on that day, to try and maintain where I was at. Once again that was what happened, as I weighed 184.5 on Tuesday morning. Tuesday I ate 47.5 points, but the scale dropped to 183.5 on Wednesday. So, I tried to shake things up a bit and I ate 60.5 points. The results were less than hoped for, as the scale on Thursday merely stayed the same at 183.5. However, I was concerned about a delayed reaction from eating high, so I only ate 38.5 points. On Friday morning the scale dropped to 183.0. Well, that did it for me. I went out at lunch and got a 33.0 point snack, and ate part of then with my lunch, and part of it on the drive home from work in the afternoon. Then that evening I went out to dinner to Sharis restaurant, and had a 25.5 meal, to bring my total for the day to 78.0 points. I was just a bit concerned when I got home from my large meal at the restaurant last night and the scale said only 185.5. I went on and had some snacks during the evening to try and keep the number on the scale up. Even so, the scale stayed down.

For exercise this week it was much better than last week. On Saturday, Dotti and I hiked 5.5 miles at Mount St. Helens, in 2 hours and 50 minutes, with a pretty steep elevation change at one point. That gave me 17.0 aerobic points. Monday I got to work early and I walked 2.0 miles in 27 minutes, 32 seconds. That was good for 5.71 aerobic points. Tuesday morning I got to work early again, and I got in another 2 miles, this time in 26 minutes, 29 seconds, for 6.06 aerobic points. I was pretty happy with the way my week had started, but then on Wednesday I had to go to the doctor first thing in the morning and I didn't have time to walk during the cool hours. So, I ended up not walking at all. On Thursday I had to run to the office on the way to my customer's site and I didn't have time to walk in the cool of the morning. At lunch I decided that I would try taking a walk, even with the heat, which was a bit less than it had been earlier in the week. I walked 2 miles in 27 minutes, 19 seconds for 5.78 aerobic points. On Friday, I wanted to give my knees a rest for the hike that I would be doing the next day, so I didn't walk. For the entire week, I got a total of 34.55 aerobic points, which exceeded my goal of 30 aerobic points.

For water, I didn't miss a day of having at least 6 cups, and overall I averaged 58.29 ounces (7.28 cups) per day.

Overall I am happy with how the week went, and unless I have unforeseen problems with bringing my weight back up this week, I hope that I do as well during the next 7 days.

2 years, 82 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
