Week 108 Update

I decided this week to take my weigh-in on Friday instead of Saturday. The reason was that Friday night my Mom and her husband wanted to take Dotti and I out for dinner to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. I decided that I would like to enjoy my meal and not have to worry about my weigh in on Saturday morning. So, I weighed-in one day early on Friday morning, at 06:30, at the Seven Feathers casino hotel in Canyonville, Oregon. When I stepped up on Mr. Scale he said, "181.5 pounds!" That is what is going on my maintenance graph for this week.

For eating this week, I started off last Saturday at 180.0 pounds. So, I ate 58.0 points to see what would happen. I have been trying to stabilize my weight since my back injury and it has been an interesting process. I weighed 180.0 on Sunday, and I tried 47.0 points to see what the scale would do. On Monday the scale dropped to 179.5. So, I ate a high point dessert at lunch (a large Butterfinger McFlurry, which I count as 17.5 points). When I got home Dotti and I ended up going out for dinner. I had a large dinner (48.5 points) and brought my points for the day up to 74.5. Yep, that was a high one. Fortunately, Dotti didn't have to kill me the next morning, because the scale did not drop, or even stay constant. It moved up to 180.5. I ate 51.5 points on Tuesday, and the scale moved up again to 182.5. Since that is above my target range, I ate only 36.0 points on Wednesday. Thursday morning I weighed 181.5. I ate 54.0 points and held steady on Friday at 181.5. I took that as my official weigh-in for the week. I ate 53.5 points on Friday, including a heavy, though not fattening 14.0 point meal, late in the evening. On Saturday, my weight was sitting at 183.0, but I am not going to worry about that one. I know that I did nothing exceptional on Friday for eating, except eat later than usual. (FYI - The scale had dropped to 182.0 by Sunday morning, and 179.5 by Sunday evening after dinner.)

My average weight for this week (including Saturday 6/7/03) was 181.21 pounds. That is a 0.78 pound increase from last week, however, it is well within my target range. My average points per day was 53.5 compared with 37.5 points per day last week. So, while my average weight went up less 0.8 pounds, my average points per day went up 16 points.

For exercise this week: on Saturday, we took a 2 hour and 40 minute walk through the woods. The hike covered 5.5 miles, and included a lot of climbing. I counted that as 24.0 aerobic points. On Sunday, we took another hike with a lot of climbing. This one took 2 hours 53 minutes and 48 seconds. I counted this one as 26.0 points. My knees were aching some after these two walks and I took a rest on Monday. On Tuesday, I walked a mile before work and it took 13 minutes and 20.07 seconds. That was good for 2.5 aerobic points. On Wednesday my knees were aching, and they continued to bother me through Friday. Because of that, I didn't do any more walking for the rest of the week.

For water, I came up light on Sunday, with only 3 cups. Other than that I didn't do too badly. On Saturday I had 6 cups, and on the rest of the days, other than Sunday, I had even more. I averaged 68.57 ounces per day (8.57 cups/day), which is above my goal of 6 to 8 cups per day.

Overall, it was good week for me. I consider it a success.

2 years, 26 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
