Success Stories - TaraleePlease click on thumbnails to see the full size photo. I started Weight Watchers when I moved to New Mexico from Albuquerque in March of 2000. My beginning weight was 156.6 lbs, I was wearing a size 14. I have lost 31.6 lbs and now weigh in at a svelte 125 lbs and I wear a size 6. I have not weighed that much since I was 21 ( I will be 34 in February). I was not always a heavy person. I used to work for a Physical Therapist and was on my feet assisting people with exercises in the nursing homes as well as in a sports medicine clinic. I worked 12 to 14 hours 5 to 6 days a week. I did that for 6 years. My next job was not nearly as active. I took a reservations agent position for a major airline. Thinking I would be enjoying free travel. Well.... I did not travel as much and I certainly did not exercise as much. I gained over 30 lbs in about 3 years. During this time, I accepted a secretarial position with a General Contractor Construction Company. Again, I sat a lot and boy did those folks know how to eat. We went out to lunch every day, had a soda fountain machine in the office and had Doughnut day every Friday. It did not take long for me to lose my cute little shape. It was funny, I always thought my clothes must have be shrinking. It never occurred to me I was GROWING. During this time I met a wonderful man. We
were married in October of 99. It was then when we got our wedding pictures
back I realized it was time to do something. I joined Weight Watchers and learned
to eat right and I am now exercising everyday. I even do weight training. This
past December, I was invited to the Christmas party of the construction company
I used to work for. They had not seen me since I lost the 30lbs. Everyone was
so shocked. I loved every minute of it. I am happy, and most of all healthy.
I owe a lot of my success to Dotti's web page. Everyone on the page is so encouraging.
Dotti's points for Restaurants were a life saver and the message boards gave
me great ideas for snacking and dinner alternatives. Thank you everyone. Photos - L-R: on Captain Hook; at ballgame; wedding; Christmas 2000 - 125 lbs; a svelte 125 lbs |
