Al and I only use Firefox in our daily browsing because we think it is not only the best browser out there, but it far better than any other, including Internet Explorer.
FIREFOX has so many great features that it is hard to list them all. But let me give it a try:
- FIREFOX is the most secure browser you can get, meeting all your safe browsing needs! FIREFOX has built in security where it block popups and spyware. Pages that used to drive you crazy when you dropped because one box after another came flying across your screen, blocking the content, now load without the mess. (What is wrong with web designers to do that anyway? What are they thinking?)Firefox blocks that stuff for you.
- FIREFOX has a SPELL CHECKER to let you know that you goofed, before you save it, even when you are typing in a post on our message board.
- FIREFOX remembers where you were! When run FIREFOX it asked if you want to restore your last session or start a new one. If you restore your last session, FIREFOX opens all the windows you had opened before and I have even recovered posts that I thought I had lost because my computer locked up while I was typing. This can be a really cool feature, and I love it!
- Do you like cute things? You can go to the FIREFOX site and literally spend days downloading add-ins for your browser that will do neat things. I have customized my browser so all the tabs are colorful and I even tried a 3-D tab add-in. I have an add-in that shows me when and where all the worlds earthquakes happen. You won't believe all the things they offer until you actually browse through their listing of add-ins. And they are ALL FREE!
- Do you ever FTP anything? Al and I love the FIREFOX FTP add-in. It never times out. You dont' have to hurry up and upload something, worrying about the connection closing on you. For anyone who does a lot of FTP, this is a great feature!
So far I have yet to meet anyone who has tried FIREFOX who hasn't liked it. In nearly all cases when I have gotten someone to try it, they never go back to Internet Explorer as their primary browser. (The only thing we use Internet Explorer for today is to double check to make sure IE hasn't changed the way our page looks when we are designing something new in HTML.)
In all honesty, if you try it, you will almost certainly like it, and you will probably stay with it! And playing with the add-ins is just plain fun. Give it a try—
