This cake is a favorite everywhere I take it.

  • 1 box (1-step) angel food cake mix [Betty Crocker]
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple, 20 oz [Dole]
  1. Put dry cake mix in bowl (do not add the water as directed on the box).
  2. Add entire can of pineapple with juice.
  3. Mix carefully until all dry mix in incorporated.
  4. Pour into either a tube pan, 9x13 pan, or cupcake pan with liners.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for time on box for size pan (around 30-40 minutes. When sides pull away from pan and toothpick, cake is done.

    Hi Dotti, I made this for my Canadian Thanksgiving dessert and I used Betty Crocker Angel Food Cake ‘Fat Free’ + Dole Crushed Pineapple – it turned out delicious. Only problem is coming up with accurate ‘Smart Points’ – At some point I had calculated one piece to be 8 smart points – maybe due to ‘number of servings’?? I baked it in a 9×13 baking pan.
    Any help to understand how calculated would be greatly appreciated – your ‘long-time’ friend in Toronto, ON Canada.
