As you can see from my title I’ve rejoined Weight Watchers for the 3rd (or 4th) time.  I can tell you this, Freestyle is the very best Weight Watcher program I’ve been on.  It’s easy to track with the smartphone App, easy to eat healthy, easy to get away from high sugar foods (more Smart Points), and most of all helps you change your lifestyle to a healthy lifestyle.

I started my new Freestyle Journey on Friday, April 20, 2018.  It was the best decision I’ve made in a long time.  This past January a good friend of mine, Joan, came to visit me.  We hadn’t seen each other for years but it was like we just saw each other yesterday.  She got me motivated to start tracking my food.  I lost about 10 lbs from January 2018 to April 20th when I started WW Freestyle.  I was up to 262 lbs in January.  I started WW Freestyle at 252.8.  Today, September 10, 2018, I weigh 216.2 lbs with a total loss of 36.6 lbs on WW Freestyle.

I have lowered my Omaprazole in half and am hoping to get off of it completely.  I’ve been on 40 mg since 2006.  I am now at the point that I have very little acid reflux so my next step will be to wean off the 20 mg.

Dotti's Corner You TubeI found an awesome meeting here in Spokane.  Our leader, Sue, is such a wonderful leader and she empowers the class to participate.  The members are wonderful, always smiling, giving you a hug when you need it, and always makes you feel included.

I have started a YouTube channel, my first-ever.  I have only done 3 videos so far. If you’d like to visit my YouTube channel please click on the graphic below. If you like my YouTube videos please click on Like and Subscribe.  That would really help me out a lot.  I, also, would love to hear from you.  Feel free to let me know what you’d like me to do a video on.  If you don’t have a YouTube account/channel, please go to YouTube.com and create one.  You only have to add a username/password/email when you sign up.  No obligation.  Once you have a YouTube account you can comment, like, subscribe, to any channels you like.  It’s also a good way to keep your favorite channels in one place.  Just a thought.

The grandkids have been over quite a bit during the summer.  Emily and I enjoyed the pool here at the complex.  LeRoy got a new, bigger pool this year so we enjoyed a few swims and BBQ’s over there.  LeRoy’s birthday was July 20th and we had a pool party with BBQ.  So much fun.  Emily is a little fish in the water.

My two brothers that live in Sandy, OR came up for a visit on Sunday, Sept 2nd and left on Wednesday, Sept 5th.  First, that was so nice of them to come and visit us.  Second, Emily was so excited to finally meet her two Great Uncles Rip and Bob.  Emily and Jake fell in love with them as did they with her and Jake.

I now am the proud owner of a very nice elliptical.  We lost ours when we made the move up here.  There are two in the apartment complex gym but I just never walked over there.  I was looking on FB Marketplace for a used one.  I found one I liked for $90 but told the seller I couldn’t get it until the end of last month.  She asked what my story was and I told her a little about myself – getting back on WW and losing weight.  She replied she was up a little too and we are all in this together.  The next message from her blew me away.  “Have you son pick it up after 5:30 pm.”  I couldn’t believe it!  I feel so blessed.

We went over to LeRoy’s for a BBQ and fun with the kids on Monday.  The rest of the time we stayed in and I made some home-cooked meals for them.  They fell in love with the Taco Soup I made.  I had no problem staying on Program as I eat very little when I’m talking and visiting and we did that non-stop.  It was so, so, nice catching up with them.  My older brother Bob, lost his wife of 42 years, in April.  He seems to be doing okay.  It was definitely a hard loss.  They were like Al and I, “Two Hearts Beat As One”.  My younger brother, Rip, was really hurting as he needs two hip replacements.  The doctor won’t do it until he loses some more weight but we all know what a struggle that is.  I hope I can be a good example for him.  I sure do love those two guys!

Guess that brings me to now.  I weighed on my scale this morning and I saw the lowest number yet – 215.2 lbs.  I’m working on one decade at a time going down to goal.  I’m stoked.

This is my Weight Loss Journey calendar looks like.  I think it’s good to see the overall picture of how far you’ve come along your Journey.

If any of you are interested in joining Weight Watchers they are now offering a free month for YOU and for ME when you join one of the plans.  It would help me out a lot if you click on the link below if you do decide to join.  My son is paying my monthly fee, which is so nice of him.  We just did not have it in our budget.

Okay, guess I rambled enough for now.  Hope this message finds you all well and ready for some cooler weather.  Take care.  Until next time…

Can you believe it is near the end of 2017?  It seems the older I get the faster time goes.  It’s been a busy last 6 months since I last posted.  Note to self:  I must get better at posting more often.

The Grandkids have grown so much over this year, as you can see from the above photos.  Our oldest grandson, Kai, who is 19 years old, has grown into a fine young man.  I’m sure the girls are swooning all over him.  We don’t get to see him much as he lives in Japan with his Dad.  We miss them a lot.

Emily and Jake had a lot of fun this past summer.  Emily found a huge slug in the backyard.  She was so enthralled with it.  It certainly was the biggest slug I ever saw! We both hate bugs but we also give exception to ladybugs.  Emily enjoyed them all summer long.  Emily also learned how to climb a tree in the fall and is up there every chance she gets.  Jake joined her in the tree with a little help from his Dad and Grandpa Al and boy, was it hard to get him down.  He loved it up there!

Emily started Kindergarten in September.  She loves school.  She was so excited to ride on a school bus on her field trip.  It was her first time riding on a school bus.  She just recently made “Student of the Month”.  We are so proud of her.

Al and I enjoyed having barbecues and backyard fun with Emily and Jake.  They are so full of energy.  We can’t keep up with them but boy, they leave so many smiles on our face.

For my birthday (61st) this year my son, LeRoy, brought me some beautiful flowers, took me out to lunch, and then the movie “It” which I’ve been wanting to see.  Al and LeRoy made it a beautiful day.  I loved the movie.  I do love scary movies and thrillers.

Life was pretty low key for the next couple of months.  Al and I stayed home for Thanksgiving.  Rachel’s Mom invited us over for dinner but we opted for a quiet evening at home.  Both of us ended up sick so never had the dinner but that’s okay.  We had each other.

Our 1st snow was on Nov 6th this year.

Emily had a sleepover here on December 9th and we had a blast those two days.  We went to McDonald’s for lunch so she could play inside.  It was very cold those days.  Grandpa took her to the park the next morning.  Grandma went for the warmer playground.

After McDonald’s Emily and I headed up the street to visit a couple of reindeer that arrived in Spokane the day before.  She loved them!

We headed home soon after.  Al set up our tree and I fluffed it out and added the lights.  Emily was now ready to decorate the tree.  She did the whole tree and it came out beautiful.  It’s our new family tradition, having Emily and Jake, when he gets older, decorate our tree.  We listened to Christmas music and love was in the air. Grandpa Al hit the sack early.  He usually goes to bed between 7 and 8 pm and gets up very early in the morning.  Emily always tucks him in, giving him a kiss goodnight and putting out the light.  It’s so sweet!

The next morning Grandpa took her to the park.  It was rather cold and there were no kids there so they came home early.  Emily and I spent the rest of the days making sugar cookies.  Emily liked playing in the dough and flour.  We made enough cookies for her to take some home.

Jake got to spend the day with Grandma recently.  He is such a joy to be around.  At two years old he is quite the smart little boy.  When I spend time in the kitchen doing dishes Jake always grabs his little stool and sets it in front of the sink.  He loves to play in the water.  He knocks on Grandpa’s study to get him to play foosball with him.  He is getting the hang of the game really fast.  He loves foosball, and Grandpa, of course.  He is just staring to enjoy doing some puzzles and he yells yahoo! when he gets the pieces in place.

Al and I are heading over to LeRoy’s for Christmas Day dinner.  It will be a low-key day with just them and us.  Rachel celebrates with her family on Christmas Eve.  I’ll be watching Jake for a bit today while LeRoy goes to a teacher conference with Emily.  Afterwards he’ll drop Emily off for some time with Grandma making goodies for Christmas Day.  Mom and Dad have to do some shopping at Costco so the kids being here will make it easier for them.

I hope all of you will be having a wonderful Christmas holiday with your friends and family.

Hi everyone.  On June 10, 1976 Al and I were married in Vancouver, WA.  We celebrated 41 years on June 10, 2017.  It’s been a wonderful 41 years and we look forward to many more. We met it September 1974, the year I graduated.

I am doing okay on getting back on track with my Program.  I was doing really good staying off the Diet Dr. Pepper but have slipped the past couple of days.  I will get back on track with that.  I still haven’t started walking yet but the grandkids and grocery shopping helps me get some exercise.  Hopefully our pool will be getting used when the hot weather comes to stay.  I’m not journaling yet but I am trying to eat smaller portions.  My sleep is still wacko; up long stretches, sometimes 24 hours or more.  I know that is not helping me stay on Program.

Last Friday we had a wonderful BBQ at LeRoy’s house.  We were sorry that Rachel had to work and couldn’t be there.  LeRoy has the backyard beautifully landscaped with so many flowers.  He put up a new swingset for the kids, along with a sandbox – their favorite!  We had loaded hamburgers, potato salad, cheddar sausage, and for dessert, cherry cheesecake.  Great food, great company, and awesome grandkids!

I wish I had half of their energy. I don’t think Emily ever stopped moving.  In the third photo Jake is eating a tomato slice he stole off the plate.  He does love his tomatoes.

to my hubby Al, son LeRoy and son Glenn.  They are all great fathers.  My father has been gone since I was seven but I just know he would of been an awesome father also.  I miss him every day.

Al has finished his first novel and it’s wonderful.  It’s a love story with so much more.  I know I’m a bit prejudiced but, Al writes beautifully.  You will feel like you are right there with the characters.  If you are interested in purchasing it please click on the book graphic to the right.  You won’t be disappointed.

Tonight we are having Emily over for a sleepover and she is so excited to use her new “Frozen” suitcase we bought her for sleepovers. I have errands to run and some grocery shopping to do before we pick her up.

Have an awesome day everyone and enjoy the Summer days ahead. Take care.
