Thank you for standing by me, through my ups, my downs,
and letting me know you care.

I cannot relive yesterday and tomorrow isn't here yet,
so I will just deal with today.

May 1 ~ No exercise; rest day before Bloomsday walk tomorrow (7.46 miles) ~ 120 oz water ~ 36 pts ~ I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Exercising Regularly" hypnosis session ~ A nice quiet day today with nothing special on the agenda. I caught up on a few things that I've neglected during the week. It was nice to not be rushing around. I'm a little high on Points but it offsets my low days I've had and I don't feel over-stuffed or like I've eaten too much. I got more than enough water in. I'm sleeping great since I started my new workout and it feels good. Finished the day watching "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" with Al. It's one of my favorite movies.
May 2 ~
Bloomsday 2010 [7.46 miles] I DID IT! ~ 64 oz water ~ 24 pts ~ Al and I were up early to get ready for our Bloomsday walk. We caught the bus at about 8:30 am and were on our way downtown. We started the race at 9:50 am. I did the 7.46 miles in 2 hours 20 minutes and each mile was about 20 minutes. I was happy with my walk and proud to complete it.
Points were good, water was good and sleep was good! All around, a GREAT DAY!

May 3 ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour [new instructor, great workout] ~ 64 oz water ~ 30.5 pts ~ I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Appreciating Yourself" hypnosis session ~ What a workout we had in water aerobics today. We had a sub until they hire a new instructor and boy she worked us good and was so nice about saying "great job" too. I loved it. Of course, I paid later in the day when I was so exhausted right after dinner I hit the sack at about 7:30 pm. Since I've started working out M-F for an hour+ I'm on an exercise 'high' for about 5 hours and then 'die' after dinner. My body needs to adjust.
May 4 ~
Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 10 minutes Elliptical [hips were really hurting] ~ 64 oz water ~ 23 pts ~ I just wasn't very hungry today. I missed the step going out of the gym today and fell on my bad left knee. It scraped it up pretty bad but I don't think any serious damage was done. I'm such a klutz! My trainer has really been giving me a workout. I am exhausted by 7 pm! A little low on my Points but I refuse to eat when I'm just not hungry, IYKWIM.
May 5 ~ Weighin [ 1.8 lbs ~ 239.2 lbs ] ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 56 oz water ~ 35 pts ~ I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Eating Smart" hypnosis session ~ Good day. I like to try and stay below 30 Points so did okay there. Had a wonderful afternoon with Tammy, my best friend. We had a lot of catching up to do. The meeting was awesome and my leader recognized all of us that did Bloomsday. It was nice. Bed by about 8 pm. Tired.
May 6 ~
Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 20 minutes Elliptical ~ 64 oz water ~ 32 pts ~ Where I wasn't much hungry yesterday I was famished by dinner. I had a nice afternoon with LeRoy and Rachel. It was nice to see them. LeRoy is working graveyard so I don't see him as often as I'd like. I stopped to see Mom at her rehab and she is doing well. It's just a matter of time for her hip to heal. Ate too many WW'er 1 Point bars so they won't be something I buy often in the future. Early to bed again.
May 7 ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 48 oz water ~ 20.5 pts ~ 234 lbs is my start weight. I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Avoiding Temptation" hypnosis session ~ Low Point day; just not very hungry. Al and I went to Wunderland and played a game of miniature golf. Fun! While Al batted in the batting cages I played the 'games' with my tokens. Earned enough tickets for about 6 more free miniature golf games. Gave some to a little boy who only had a few to spend. His eyes lit up and he was so elated to have more tickets to get what he wanted. Gotta love it! Bed early so not much temptation in the eating department.
May 8 ~ Gardening/Yard Work, 4 hours ~ 56 oz water ~ 24 pts ~ Happy Mother's Day to me a day early. In fact, my son, LeRoy spread it out over today and Mother's Day. His present to me this year was lots, lots and lots of flowers along with him redoing my flower bed for the flowers to live. I have a lot of clay and rocks. He cleared it, mixed up new soil, manure and clay buster and relaid the bed. WOW! What a great Mother's Day, enjoying working side by side with my son, and creating such a beautiful flower bed. Thank you son! I love you!

Doesn't the flower garden look great?
May 9 ~
Gardening, yard work continued, 3 hours ~ 64 oz water ~ 22.5 pts ~ Great day today! LeRoy came over and we got the rest of our garden done (putting down bark) and did the side of the house/walkway. We worked for another 3 hours outside and it was actually fun creating our little masterpiece.
Another low Point day but that's okay. I'm feeling good and according to my scale lost another pound. Hopefully, it will show the loss on Wednesday weigh-in at Weight Watchers. Al, LeRoy and I took flowers to MIL at her rehab and she was so happy to see us. She loved the flowers and the pictures from long ago that Al printed up for her. I put them on her bulletin board so she could look at them often. All and all a great day on Program and one of my best Mother's Day ever!

3.75 mile walk with Al; no water aerobics ~ 24 oz water ~ 29 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Exercising Regularly" hypnosis session ~ I got to bed so late last night that I was so tired by the time the alarm rang at 7 am. So, I decided that I would take a walk with Al later in the day. I haven't walked with Al for awhile so it was a nice change. The weather was beautiful too! Good day on Points and I felt in control all day. I could of drank more water throughout the day but it just didn't happen. Night all.
May 11 ~
Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 10 minutes recumbant bike; 20 minutes elliptical ~ 64 oz water ~ 26 pts ~ Today was a busy day starting with getting up and getting some things done before my gym time. After the gym I ran errands, which kept me quite busy. I had a short visit with MIL. She is healing but her Alzheimer's is getting very bad. Her short-term memory is pretty much gone (I'm talking within a couple of minutes of talking to her). She will hopefully be able to go back to her small place next door soon. Good day on Points and I increased my water from yesterday. Going to bed happy being in control.
May 12 ~ Weighin [ 5.2 lbs ~ 234.2 lbs ] ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour; mowed lawn, front and back ~ 56 oz water ~ 27 pts ~ This weigh-in was incredible for me - 5.2 lbs gone! WOW! It just shows what daily activity and exercise can do for you. I usually don't have any planned exercise for the weekend as I go to the gym Monday through Friday. This last week I did something every day and on the weekend I put in about 7 hours creating my garden with my son, LeRoy. Yes, I'm flying high! I was on such a high, I wasn't even very hungry. Okay, great day all around.
May 13 ~
Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 20 minutes Elliptical ~ 48 oz water ~ 28 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Eating Smart" hypnosis session ~ I was literally on the run all day and into early evening. We met with MIL's therapists and social worker to find out how she is doing with therapy and when they think she'll be able to move back next door to her place. It looks like June 29th is the date they are looking at. Hopefully she'll do what they want so she can leave soon. Al and I had some other things we needed to take care of and it was bedtime before we were finished. A good day on Program.
May 14 ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 81 oz water ~ 23 pts ~ I didn't eat enough Points today but I surely drank plenty of water. Al and I visited our niece, Jamie, at the hospital. She is 24 weeks pregnant and her water broke. She needs to remain in the hospital until her son is born. They are hoping she will make it to at least 28 weeks. I seem to be having problems with my left hip today. Almost every step on my left leg produces sharp pain in my hip joint. Not fun. I think it will feel better tomorrow after I've given my hip a rest. It was so good to see Jamie today and know she is being well taken care of at the hospital. On to a great weekend.
May 15 ~ No exercise ~ 56 oz water ~ 30 pts ~ I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Avoiding Temptation" hypnosis session ~ I'm still having problems with my left hip but it's improved some. Tried to stay off of my feet today. Very munchy today but not enthused about fixing things to eat so hit my Nutrisystem food quite a bit today. I use it when I don't want to cook or I'm just grabbing things. Today was one of those days. I went a little high on my Points but kept the water coming.
May 16 ~ No exercise ~
64 oz water ~ 31.5 pts ~ Quiet day. Another munchy day. Thank goodness I don't have junkfood in my house or I would of been in trouble a bit. I upped my water a bit today which helped me a lot when I wanted to munch. My hip is still hurting a bit but I do feel it's improving a bit. Night all.
May 17 ~
Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 72 oz water ~ 35 pts ~ I drank a lot of water today which helped keep my Points down. I spent a couple of hours visiting with Jamie today. She is doing feeling good and the baby is growing and staying put. We are all just praying the baby will hold out for 28 weeks. Picked up Subway on the way home for Al and I.
May 18 ~
Training w/Justin, 1 hour ~ 64 oz water ~ 16.5 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Appreciating Yourself" hypnosis session ~ Not a very good day today. Started the day off scraping the side of our van on the cement base of a light pole in the parking lot of Rosaurs. It is mainly scraped with a tiny dent but it upset me pretty bad. I'm so glad it was just a pole and not another car. Very low on Points but I just wasn't hungry. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Summary: May has been a good month. I got back to my "Enjoying Weight Loss" hypnosis cds, which has helped keep my head in the game. I started my water aerobics class 3 times a week and on Tues and Thurs I work with a trainer for an hour. My Weight Watcher Program is going great and my eating is under control. It was also a month filled with accomplishments. I did the Bloomsday walk which was 7.46 miles! [see pics/May 2nd] I completed and received my Bloomsday shirt upon finishing. I've gotten back into my water aerobics, which I love. I always leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Starting back up with a trainer has been good for me. It helps to have someone show you the right way to get in the best shape and to push you when you need it. All in all May has been a good month. On to June!
Have a great June everyone! I'm rooting for you!
