My Journey Back to Goal

April 2010 Accountability

I will exercise 5 days a week

I will listen to my "Enjoying Weight Loss"
hypnosis CD's  3  times a week

I will stay on my Weight Watcher Program

I will drink enough water daily

I will not give up!  Never!


I will be tracking my weigh-ins, which are on Wednesdays.  I will also be tracking my "Enjoying Weight Loss" hypnosis sessions and my daily Points for the day, ounces of water and how my day went. I have found the format below to be a good one for me.

Hi you guys! Okay, my March was a BUST big time. Too much going on with MIL and not enough going on with ME. I've gained 9 lbs since the last time I weighed in Feb so I have some ground to make up for. This is what happens when I take the focus off me and my Journey. I've joined a gym that has water  swim aerobics and plan on starting classes soon; Mon-Wed-Fri. I also signed up with a trainer, Justin, to work with on Tue and Thurs for 1 hour  situps sessions. I have a walking   plan with Al in place too. walking

I cannot relive yesterday and tomorrow isn't here yet,
so I will just deal with today.

Apr 1 ~  walking Walked 2.7 miles with Al

Apr 3 ~ Lost day?

Apr 4 ~  Easter   I came down with a severe case of food poisoning from a pre-made Spinach Salad. I lost this day completely; I wanted to die, I was hurting so bad.

Apr 5 ~ still sick; only tracked 24 oz water and 9 points

Apr 6 ~ No exercise ~ 56 oz water ~ 20 pts ~ I'm feeling a little better, but very weak - tried to go out on a short outing with Al but it was way too soon. I was very weak and soon needed to get to my bed and lay down. I've not really eaten anything but I'm trying to get as much water in as I can.

Apr 7 ~ Weighin [ -0 lbs ~ 234 lbs ] ~ No exercise ~ 56 oz water ~ 20 pts ~ 234 lbs is my start weight. I listened to Dr. Roberta's "Avoiding Temptation" hypnosis session ~ I had a slow morning but was feeling so much better. Had a nice afternoon with Tammy. We chatted over a salad (no spinach!) at Red Robin, shopped a bit at Fashion Bug  shopping  and relaxed at Borders with a delicious latte. I was exhausted by the time I got home but it was a nice day. I stayed on Program, although my Points were a bit low. Slow, Dotti, slow.

Apr 8 ~ No exercise ~ No Tracking ~ We missed "Little House on the Prairie" musical with a nights stay at the Red Lion. I just wasn't feeling up to it. Tammy & Jamie used the tickets for the show and enjoyed it. How did I get so much laundry

Apr 9 ~  walking Walked 2.7 miles with Al  ~ No Tracking

Apr 10 ~ Worked on cleaning up the garage, reorganizing, moving, lifting things for 6 hours ~ No Tracking ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Exercising Regularly" hypnosis session

Apr 11 ~ walking Walked 2.7 miles with Al ~ 32 oz water ~ 15 pts ~ Good day but too low on points. Still not much of an appetite.

Apr 12 ~   swimming Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 48 oz water ~ 22.5 pts ~ Very busy with MIL's bills and paperwork. Stayed up way too late and didn't get to bed until 1:30 am. Not much sleep.

Apr 13 ~ No exercise ~ No Tracking ~ 24 oz water ~ 29 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Eating Smart" hypnosis session ~ Met Eileen (from We Can forum)   for coffee. Al met us there at Barnes & Noble and then we picked up MIL to take care of some of her financial stuff.

Apr 19 swimming  Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 32 oz water ~ 22.5 pts ~ partial tracking; not sure what happened. I was gone out of the house most of the day. I got my hair trimmed and my nails done.

Apr 20 ~   situps  Training w/Justin, 1 hour ~ 48 oz water ~ 27 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Appreciating Yourself" hypnosis session ~ today was my first day of training with my new trainer, Justin, at the North Park Racquet Club. Good workout and he made me feel very comfortable and confident he knows what he is doing.

Apr 21 ~ Weighin [ +5 lbs ~ 239 lbs ]  swimming   Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 40 oz water ~ 24.5 pts ~ see what happens when you don't track much since last weighin? It's a given most of the time. It's so easy to lose track of how much you've eaten if you don't write it down. Good things I'm doing: Making it to my water aerobic classes Mon-Wed-Fri and my sessions with my trainer Tues and Thurs. I'm always needing to get in more water it seems. I feel good and back in control.

Apr 22 situps  Training w/Justin, 1 hour ~ 56 oz water ~ 22.5 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Exercising Regularly" hypnosis session ~ today was my second training session and it went very well. I always go, go, go like the energizer bunny all afternoon after my sessions. Great day on my water and Points today.

Apr 23 swimming  Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 48 oz water ~ 28.5 pts ~ I am so, so sore in the hips, thighs and upper arms today. The water felt so good. I met with Jamie and Hunter at the mall today and it was nice playing some air hockey and different games with them. Hunter is getting so big! I've been taking Ibuprofen for my aches and pains and so far it's working for the most part. Got my Vitatops today and boy, they are such a great 1 point treat. YUM!

Apr 24 ~ No exercise ~ No Tracking ~ 64 oz water ~ 35 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Eating Smart" hypnosis session ~ I didn't do too much today and was a little higher than I'd like on my Points. It will all work out for the week. I did do much better today on my water. Woo! Hoo!

Apr 25 walking Walked 7.1 miles with Al ~ 64 oz water ~ 31 pts ~ Al mapped out a 7.1 mile walk from our house up on the 5-mile Prairie down to the river at Bowl & Pitcher. It was a great walk to prepare for our Bloomsday walk on Sunday, May 2nd. That one is about 7.3 miles, I believe. I think I'll survive it! Al promised to walk slow with me. A couple of hours after we got home we got a call from Cherrywood (where MIL lives) telling us MIL took a fall and was taken to the hospital. She did break her hip (clean break) so surgery tomorrow.

Apr 26 ~  swimming  Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 64 oz water ~ 30 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Avoiding Temptation" hypnosis session ~ After water aerobics Al and I headed back to the hospital to check on MIL and to wait out her hip surgery. The internist also found that her kidneys are only working at 20-30% so that is a problem that has to be addressed after the surgery. Her blood pressure was high too - 194/86, so meds were given for that. Long, long day at the hospital. I made good choices at the cafeteria with my lunch coming in at about 10 points (sandwich and salad). I'm tired!

Apr 27 ~   situps  Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 20 minutes Elliptical ~ 64 oz water ~ 24.5 pts ~ great day today. I drank all my water and stayed good on my Points. It seems I have about 4 hours of high energy after my workouts with Justin and my water aerobics, which I am loving! I'm feeling so great being back in control of my Journey. Woo! Hoo!

Apr 28 ~ Weighin ~ 1st meeting back to Weight Watchers since July 2009 [241 lbs]  swimming  Water Aerobics, 1 hour ~ 72 oz water ~ 19 pts ~ listened to Dr. Roberta's "Appreciating Yourself" hypnosis session ~ Very good day. I went back to my Weight Watcher meetings (thanks Eileen) and it felt good to be back. I went to my water aerobics class and had a good workout too, one of the best. I weighed in at my meeting about the same as I did this morning (before getting dressed) so I'm feeling great. You can see above what happens when you stop tracking and paying attention to your Journey ~ weight gain! It's so nice to be back on track.

Apr 29 situps  Training w/Justin, 1 hour; 15 minute warmup ~ 64 oz water ~ 26 pts ~ I made it through the day although I did not plan well for the day out of the house. MIL got transferred to rehab today for her broken hip. The rehab is connected to where she lives so that is nice. She seems to be doing well. I went way too long between eating something but I made it through the day. Next time I plan on planning better.

Apr 30 ~   walking  Walked/on feet with Al for about 3 hours ~ 72 oz water ~ 21.5 pts ~ I decided not to go to water aerobics today since I knew I was going to be walking quite a bit today when we went downtown Spokane to pick up our packets for Bloomsday (7.46 mile walk). Great overcast/sunshiny day with a bit of raindrops but not much. We had a nice lunch/dinner at Red Robin. I love their El Pollo salad with grilled chicken. Stayed OP, drank all my water and feel terrific. On to May!
