A story of passion that had lasted throughout half of a century. A story of love, renewed in a distant galaxy. Bill and Cookie Colt were transformed into an Adam and Eve, as they were transported to a new planet, where the only other occupants were robots, with an overseer named Michelangelo—was he a friend or a foe?

This is the saga of the Colts, two androids, the involuntary future rulers of Attis, the potential mother and father of a planet, and an entire galaxy. They quickly carved out a home, and soon had a child. These septuagenarians were intertwined by a love that had grown through fifty-three years of marriage. And yet, they both were as spry as when they were twenty, and they loved it.

However, they quickly learned that life is perilous, even for non-biological creatures. No, they couldn't return to Earth, but would Attis ever really be their home?

Bill had just moved into his apartment after landing a good job, designing computers. He had recently graduated at the top of his class, and was out looking for some groceries to fill his empty cupboards, when he bumped into the most beautiful girl he had ever seen: Cookie. A whirlwind romance, marriage and they were in the perfect position to live happily ever after.

 ❤

Fifty-three years later, Bill and Cookie were even more in love, but their health was failing, they were poor, and hope for the future was growing weak. They had each other, and little else. But they could still smile at life, because love for them, was enough.

 ❤

One night they went to sleep as usual, in their little bedroom, with just enough space for their bed. It was a night like any other, except...

 ❤

Bill woke up inside a coffin, trapped and afraid. Being buried alive he would have hated, but at least he could have understood that. But this, he couldn't understand.

 ❤

The coffin lid opened, and everything Bill knew was gone forever. Everything: his home, his neighborhood, his country, his world, even his galaxy were beyond his reach. One thing remained to him, the only thing that really mattered: his wife.

Bill was shocked to find that Cookie was not the beautiful septuagenarian that had laid down beside him on Earth. Her white hair had turned to gold, and her wrinkled skin was smooth and young. She looked the same age his bride had been on their wedding day, still a teenager. If Bill still had a heart, it would have stopped when he saw his wife rising unclothed from her own coffin. She was flawless, as perfect as any goddess could be.

 ❤

Cookie in turn was shocked to find her husband the same young man she had married. Neither of them had an ache or pain in their bodies, but they also didn't have an explanation as to why.

 ❤

They faced the unknown; bravely moving forward. However, at every turn a new surprise awaited them. A spaceship, and a new planet, and always there was the mysterious Michelangelo, who was in complete control of their destiny.

 ❤

Fear bubbled under the surface, as they learned their fate. They were to be marooned, just the two of them, forever. They had died but they were alive. It was all too much to accept, and yet accept it they must.

 ❤

Bill and Cookie Colt landed on their new home, being a strange mixture of high tech and pioneers. They were destined to be Adam and Eve to their new planet. Their only neighbors were robots, but they also had to wrestle with the fact that they were no longer human—androids in love. The only human on the planet was the child Cookie carried within her. However, they were destined to populate this planet, and their descendants would all be human. Their progeny would then populate the William Galaxy.
