and then ... think... what tragedy struck just a few days later... Hey.. It
is so surreal at times when I think about it... We had no clue what the future
was about to hurl at us that week! Heaven Bristo pizza was great.. Heck I even ate the mushrooms on the pizza.. and I don't do those usually..LOL We had such a great time.. (Just hope I didn't wear out my welcome here... The time ran away on me Sunday night.. When I got back to my hotel last night.. well.. ahem.. it was past 2 am.. I almost died when I looked at the clock..) We hiked up Multnomah Falls after attending Dotti's Weight Watcher Meeting. When I got back to Dotti's home, after visiting my friends in Seattle, I had the shakes so bad from not getting on the computer since I left the other day that I pushed Dotti away from the computer so that I could log on ... I am loving it here.... Just Loving my vacation.. and Yes Barb.. It was great seeing you here at Dotti's too.. What a wonderful way to join us in spirit... I saw you there too!!! I had a super GRAND time...IT is fantastic out here!!! I do not know how to thank you for all the time that you spent with me this week.. I really enjoyed all the time we spent together. It was a very special week for me, and I want to let you know how much I really appreciated it. Thanks for putting up with my late hours.. and getting me off to the airport, and picking me up.. and the list is endless... Tell Al, Thanks from me too. Luv ya, Kiddo... and Thanks again from the bottom of my heart for everything also... Joan I have to agree with Joan - that smile of hers tells it all! We had such fun together and talked about everything! If anyone has the chance to meet Joan please do - she is one fantastic lady! Joan arrived on Friday at about 1:30 pm - I picked her up from the airport and drove her to get her rental car! We came back to my house and visited until early evening! She brought me YUMMY Pizza Burgers, Cow Pies and Natural Ovens bread - all made in Wisconsin. She also brought me a beautiful SWAN glass barometer with blue water in it - Al especially loved that, as did I! Then she had to get to her cabin south of Portland, where she was going to be attending a wedding of friends on Saturday. Joan came back to my house on Sunday for our Zonie meeting on Sunday, Sept 9th! She brought us all some Cow Pies to enjoy - YUM! The Zonie lunch was a huge success - Click Here. Joan and I did some shopping after getting her settled in her motel room (right by my house) and then came back to my place for lots of visiting and laughs! Like she said above, she did not leave until 2 am - we could not believe that! Monday, we moved Joan out of her hotel and into my living room! I figured it was a waste of money for the motel when we were together most of the time anyway! We headed to my Weight Watcher meeting and then for our climb up Multnomah Falls! What a great time and we made it to the TOP! On the way home we stopped at Sweet Tomatoes and Joan treated me to dinner! Then home for more fun and relaxation. On Tuesday we were awakened by a phone call from my sis about the WTC building being attacked - Joan and I were in shock! Joan was supposed to drive up to Seattle that day but I said, NO WAY - we were both very emotional! We were glued to the TV all day - and in SHOCK! Joan left for Seattle on Wednesday nite to visit her friends! She arrived back here very late on Friday nite (a day earlier - she missed me!) and we spent Saturday together! We stayed up until we had to leave for the airport, around 2:30 am! It was sad saying goodbye but I know we will see each other again! Thanks for the memories Joan - I will treasure them! Dotti |
