Week 99 Update

It was 04:30, dark and 40°F outside when I got up and stepped up on Mr. Scale. He said, "183.5 pounds!" That is the lightest weekly weigh-in I have had since November! In fact I went from just squeaking by last week at the top of my range to getting close to hitting the very bottom of my range this week. Interesting.

My average points per day only dropped 0.78 points per day, or if you will, I ate 5.5 fewer points this week than I did last week. That certainly was not the cause of a 3.5-pound drop. What caused it, in spite of the fact I was taking Advil all week long?

It all started on Sunday I think, when I was at the gym. After doing my upper body workout, I felt bad, like I had perhaps overdone it. I played 23 minutes of basketball, at a leisurely pace, and felt a little better, but still didn’t feel right. On Monday, at lunch I walked 3 miles at a 14:36 pace, which is fairly slow, compared to the times I have been doing lately. At the end of the walk, I felt terrible. I wasn’t sure if my allergies were kicking in, since spring is really getting underway in the park I walk through, or if it was something else. I didn’t do any more exercise for the week. On Thursday afternoon, I suddenly got a sore throat, and Friday I felt pretty bad when I woke up. I decided to go to work, and naturally it was a day when a big project jumped up for me. I had to work right through my normal lunchtime, and take a late lunch. I was thinking about going home after the project was completed, but I ended up staying to finish the day. (I got through it all with Advil in the morning and aspirin in the afternoon.) Fortunately, it was quiet for the afternoon. I am still feeling under the weather today.

For eating this week, all but one of the days I held it down to a normal level. Saturday, when I had weighed-in at 187.0, I ate 48.0 points. My weight dropped back down to 184.0 on Sunday. After eating 47.5 points, Monday showed me sitting at 185.0. I ate 48.5 and Tuesday had me weighing 184.5. I then ate 63.5 points when we went out for dinner. It was delicious, but the scale jumped up to 186.5 on Wednesday morning. I ate 44.0 points, and Thursday had me back down to 185.0. I ate 47.0 points that day, and Friday brought me down to 184.0. With my weigh-in coming up, and with the scare of last week's brush with the top of my range fresh in my memory, I held my points down to 43.5 yesterday, and that produced my weigh-in weight of 183.5.

Since I felt under the weather all week, I blew my string of consecutive weeks of hitting 30 aerobic points for exercise. Hopefully, I will be able to snap out of it this week and get back on track; if I can just shake this cold.

For eating, I think I did fine, keeping my average points per day fairly close to my target of 47/48 points, and my average weight at 184.64 is within 0.36 pounds of my target weight. That works for me.

For water, I was fairly consistent during the week, and I averaged 65.14 ounces (just over 8 cups) per day, and my lowest day was 6 cups.

My daily weigh-ins all fell within my target range, which was not the case during the previous 4 weeks! So, I did better on that score this week.

1 year, 328 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
