Week 85 Update

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It seems like just yesterday when Chicken Little was running around screaming, "Y2K is falling!!!" Now, 2002 is winding down, and 2003 is gearing up for his run at the history books. When I was in high school, we used to use the phrase, "Back in '02" to depict something that happened a long time ago. Now I will be able to say that back in '02 I had my first full year of being at my personal target goal. :)

I got up at 05:00 this morning, after being up and down a lot, thanks to the 15 cups of water I drank yesterday. I stepped up on Mr. Scale, and he said, "185.0 pounds!"

Now that my first year at maintenance is completed, I have started a new maintenance graph for year two. (Please note the change in my signature line.) I now have up a graph for my weight loss journey, another for my first year of maintenance, and a third for my current year of maintenance.

It was an interesting week this week. We spent the first few days at my Mom's house, and that meant a change in my eating. Mom always has fresh fruit in the house and I had some of that, and she cooked a great Christmas Eve dinner (since we had to head back home on Christmas Day due to work obligations). When we got home, Dotti cooked a very nice steak dinner for Christmas. I definitely had plenty of good food this week!

My average points per day this week jumped again, from 48.00 to 52.43, and once again my average weight dropped from 184.29 to 183.79.

I walked two miles on Saturday, in 31:38, or 15:49 per mile. On Sunday my left knee was aching quite a bit, and it continued to ache off and on for the rest of the week. So, I gave it a rest. Hopefully I can get some walking in this upcoming week.

Saturday, including the drive down to Mom's house, I ended up eating 50.5 points. On Sunday morning I was 184.0 pounds. I ate up again at 47.5 points and my weight responded by increasing to 185.5. So, I moved my points down on Monday to 39.5. My weight dropped to 183.0 on Tuesday (Christmas Eve) morning. I also felt hungrier than usual, like I needed to eat a little extra. So, I felt comfortable with having a large meal that evening, when Mom cooked up a nice turkey breast and put together all the trimmings. :) The meal came to 22 points, and that brought my day's total to 72.0 points. When I stepped on the scale Wednesday morning I had dropped to 182.0. (Dotti was looking daggers at me about this time. :( ) I wasn’t sure if it was just a momentary blip on the screen or something that was going to be a longer-term change. So, I ate high (58.5) on Christmas Day, but not as high as I had on the day before. I felt that way I could recover by my weekly weigh-in, whichever way it went. As it turned out, on Thursday the scale only went up a half pound to 182.5. So, I held steady at 58.5 points for another day. Friday morning I was up to 184.5. I had also slept in until 07:00 on Friday, so I would probably have weighed a bit more if I had weighed-in at my normal 05:30. So, I ate cautiously during the day, and when it came dinner time, I was up on the scale higher than normal for that time of day. So, I had a 5 point dinner, bringing my points for the day to 40.5, and didn't eat anything else for the rest of the evening. I instead drank 9 additional cups of water between dinner and bedtime, bringing my total water for the day to 15 cups (120 oz.). I was up and down all night getting rid of the water, but I weighed 185.0 at weigh-in :D !

1 year, 230 days OP, a lifetime to follow!
