Week 79 Update

I woke up at about 0400 hours this morning, and decided to go ahead and get up. When I stepped on Mr. Scale, he said, "184.0 pounds!" Just like last week. :)

Last night, Dotti's youngest brother Rip, came over for dinner. It was a very nice visit and we enjoyed catching up on what is going on in his life. In addition to enjoying his company, Dotti and I both were surprised by how much weight he had dropped since the Saturday that he came over to help us move into our new house. He has not been following WW, but he has made a number of positive changes in his eating, which have been very effective!

The dinner we had last night was late, and so I did not end up eating as many points as I originally planned for the day. The dinner itself was a huge tostada, with a fancy shell that Dotti baked into a bowl shape, using some forms she has. It looked fancy and tasted great! Even with all the trimmings it came to only 6.0 points! Then we had a jello dessert, with cool whip topping, for 2.0 more points. I had a nice cup of hot cocoa (1 point) to finish off the meal, which totaled only 9.0. By the time our dinner was over, it was too late to eat much else. So, I ended up eating only 33.5 points yesterday.

The low points for Friday could have been a problem this morning, since I was already down to 184.0 yesterday morning. However, eating as late as we did, I was not too concerned. Today, I will absolutely need to make an adjustment if I don't want to take a big drop tomorrow or the next day.

It has been really nice getting back to normal, with our return home on Monday. Dotti was going nuts trying to deal with all the issues on the Message Board and web page with the slow dial up connections she was getting (16 K or 19 K usually). For some reason my laptop would connect at a faster speed (24 K) than hers would. Go figure. Anyway, it never fails when we are on the road something comes up, and so getting home has been especially nice, for not only the comforts of our own abode, but the comforts of broadband Internet access!

My points naturally fell off once again when I got home, and got out of the restaurants for my meals. When it all averaged out, I was a point and a half over my target of 43.0 points per day for the week. That is pretty close, and the results were satisfactory. I thought it was interesting that I averaged exactly 184.0 pounds this week.

I had a couple of low water days, including yesterday. I will have to work on that. My average water consumption per day was okay at 51 ounces, but it is on the low end of where I want to be.

Last evening, I was afraid that I was not going to even be home for the dinner with Rip. I called Dotti up around noon and let her know that I was being called over to another customer site, who is just about the only customer in the area right now who is willing to pay us for overtime work. That meant that if I could not get the machine up and running in time, I would have to work late. Along about 3:00 PM things were looking pretty good, and by 4:30 PM I was virtually certain that things were going to be okay. (They wanted to cycle 1000 wafers before they were going to declare the machine as being "up." It was close to 300 when 5:00 PM rolled around and they said that since the problem appeared to be fixed, I really didn't need to just stand there, charging them hundreds of dollars per hour to watch it cycle the remaining 700 wafers through. :) ) Even though I didn't leave until 5:30 PM, I still got home earlier than I would have if I had left my normal customer site at 5:00 PM on a Friday evening! I also had a stress free drive, because this customer is on the east side of town, well outside the major traffic tie-ups I normally have to deal with. I could get used to that drive!

My exercise this week was limited to what I got at work, and it was not all that great. I will have to see if I can get some walking in this coming week.

I am on call until Monday morning, and so I have my fingers crossed that it will be a quiet weekend.

Next weekend we will be off to visit our dearest friends, Jim and Tammy, and their lovely family, for the Thanksgiving holiday, and we are really looking forward to that!!!

[b]This Week in Books I am continuing my way through, “That Hideous Strength.” I am most of the way through it, and should easily finish it this coming week.

I have continued to work on Major during lunch, but I am not even halfway through it yet.

1 year, 188 days OP, a lifetime to follow!
