Week 75 Update

It was up by 18 this morning! Degrees that is, since last weigh-in. We are about 120 miles south of my last weigh-in as well. The temp outside in Eugene was 54° at 5:00 AM when I stepped up on Mr. Scale. He replied, “186.0 pounds!”

Our forecast shows highs about 65° and lows about 45° for the next several days. Very nice!

Saturday, Dotti and I did get a bit of exercise in this week, aside from working on getting the house in shape. We took a walk, which included a visit to Subway, a drug store, Office Max, the post office, and back home again. Using the distances between the different stopping points, and the times it took to walk them, I calculated the Aerobic points for each leg of the journey. The total distance added up to just over 3 miles. The total Aerobic points came to 3.50 points.

The weather was perfect for a walk, with bright sunshine and a nice stiff autumn breeze. The temperature was creeping up towards our high of 70°, but our coats were needed because of the wind. The first thing I noticed as we headed out was the sound the wind was making as it was driving its way through the tall stand of pine trees a short distance from our house. There is something unique about the sound of wind moving through the upper branches of the big trees. It took me back to the days when I was a kid and my folks took me up to into the San Bernardino Mountains, and the wind would cut through the forest making that very sound. And of course, the best part of the walk was having the most beautiful woman in the world holding my hand! Dotti is the joy of life, and I simply love having time alone with her, sharing her company.

As I was putting my data into the table for this week, I noticed that the end of the week was very close to the same as last week. I have been spending a lot of time at 186.0 or 186.5 lately. I even hit the top of my range yesterday at 187.0! It is time to pull things in a bit and get back down to 185.0. This week coming up I will be “on the road,” so maybe that will help. In any case I have to be careful or I will drift up out of my target range.

Sunday, I was snacking all day long and ended up eating 51.5 points in the end. My meals only came to 27.5 points for the day, which is only a bit over my normal 24 or 25 points. However, my snacks added up to 24.0 points. It was just a little here and a little there, all day long. On Monday, I held it back to 39.5 points, and thought I was back on track. However, on Tuesday I didn’t take a lunch with me, and ended up eating 21.5 points for lunch instead of my normal 11.5. That put my meals up to 34.5 for the day, and my total points were once again at 51.5. For Wednesday through Friday, I held my points under 43 each of the days and that was fine. But it was not fun watching the scale creep up from 186.0, to 186.5 and finally 187.0. I had banged up against the top of my range and I didn’t like the feeling. Hopefully, I will do better this week.

Dotti’s eye has been better since they put in the “Band-Aid” contact lens. There has been some irritation from the lens but so far the discomfort has been very small compared with what she was going through before. Hopefully it will heal up completely soon!

1 year, 160 days OP, a lifetime to follow!
