Week 48 Update

This week I changed my signature line to show what my current goal weight is. I thought the 200 was kind of useless, since that was an old goal that I have no intention of coming close to again, and as long as I stay OP that will not be a problem. I have 190 as my actual "Goal Weight" but I view that as an upper limit that will set off all sorts of alarms if I go above. I am not focused on 190 right now either. I am focused on trying to stay within 2 pounds of 185. My current goal is 185 ± 2 pounds. So, that is what I now have in my signature line.

Also, in keeping with that line of thinking, I have redone my Weight Loss Graph and my Maintenance Graph. Now, my Weight Loss Graph has all of the weight loss portion of my journey on it, and my Maintenace Graph has only my maintenace results on it.

I reached 185 on December 29, 2001 and that is when my maintenance actually began. That means my weight loss portion of my journey ran from May 12, 2001 to Dec. 29, 2001, covering 33 weeks. (Or 7 months, and almost 3 weeks. Call it 8 months if you like.) I lost 54.5 pounds in that time at a rate of 1.65 pounds per week overall. That means I really slowed up from the 2.1 pounds per week that I was losing at until I reached my first goal of 200 pounds. There were 2 weeks where I was trying to maintain at 190 but I changed my goal and started losing again. That would have moved me closer to 2 pounds per week overall if I had not done that, but I don't really care all that much. What I am far more interested in is how my maintenance chart has been going. Since December 29 I have not had a single weigh-in over my goal range of 185 ± 2 pounds, and only had 2 weigh-ins that fell below my goal range. I am very happy with those results. My points have been all over the place at times, but my weight has stayed pretty close to where I want it to be since December 29th. That is nearly 3 and a half months. Okay, it is nothing compared with the results Dotti and many others have had, but I am smiling about it nonetheless. :)

Friday I had the busiest day at work that I have had in a long time. I worked right through lunch and barely finished up by quitting time. I had to replace a robot and then teach it where to pick up the wafers at all 5 stations. The software kept locking up and nearly made me late. I was really tired by the time I got home, but we had to do some packing etc.

This was the first time since I lost my weight that I had to spend much time in this part of the machine, and it used to be a big chore getting in and out of this area. Today I just slipped in and out with no real trouble. (I don't miss my old stomach size at all!) It made me feel really good to see how much of a difference it made.

My next weigh-in will be at the conference!!! It is nearly upon us. We are heading out shortly, and it will be no time at all before all the Zonies coming to St. Louis will be gathering for this years big get together. It should be great!

This week in books

This week I passed the halfway point on The Two Towers on my second time through. I am listening to the Sam and Frodo part of the book, which will take me all the way to the third book of the trilogy.

I finished the Perry Mason book The Case of the Runaway Corpse." on Tuesday night. On Monday I had gotten to within 30 pages of the end, and had enough facts to play around with the possiblities in my head as I was driving in to work on Tuesday morning. I had touched on most of the solution but I had not settled on any particular solution when I started reading on Tuesday night. As always with the Perry Mason books, the ending was good.

At lunch I have had not gotten any reading in this week.

336 days OP, a lifetime to follow.
