Week 41 Update

This week was a bit of a correction over last week. This week my average for my points per day dropped from 43.4 to 35.2. Even though my weigh-in weight went down, my week’s average weight this week went up from 182.57 to 184.43. Looking over my data for the last 2 weeks, I have averaged 39.32 points per day. So, maybe my set point will ultimately be 39 or 40 points per day.

While I have been eating Kashi and Just 2 Point candy bars, and Skinny Cow, and Mister Cookie Face ice cream sandwiches several times a week all along my journey, one new thing that I have been doing since February 6th (when my weight dropped to 179) is having some higher point items to expand my points intake a bit. On 2/6 I went to Taco Bell and had a bean burrito and a tostada for 13.5 points. On 2/9 and on 2/11 I had a banana split (11.0 pt.) at Dairy Queen. On 2/12 I went to Burgerville and had a 33-point meal (Tillamook Burger, Small Fries and a diet drink), which brought my points up to 51.5 for that day. On 2/15, 2/19, and on 2/22 at lunch I had a small McDonalds Butterfinger McFlurry (14.5 pt.). During the 17 days since 2/6/02, I have had 10 days where I ate over 40 points (yesterday I almost made it with 39.5), and 2 of those days I ate 51 points. In spite of that I weighed 183.0 this morning. However, for this week my weight has been very close to 185 on most days.

What I am doing now everyday is to weigh myself in the morning and then eat accordingly. If I weigh more than 185, I hold my points below the mid 30s. If I weigh below 185 I aim for the high 30s. If I weigh below 184, I aim for the 40s. Lower than that, I go for the high 40s or maybe low 50s. (Today is going to be one of those fun days. :^) )

This week and books…

This week I didn’t finish any books. In listening to my audio book, I have gotten well into The Two Towers, book two in the Lord of the rings trilogy. It has been a good story so far.

At lunch I have been reading a sci-fi book called A Case of Conscience by James Blish, which I am well over halfway done with. It is a science fiction story that poses a philosophical/religious question and covers the mental and emotional struggle one man has with it. It has been pretty good so far. It was written in the early 1960s.

For my bedtime reading, I am still working my way through Have Space Suit, Will Travel by Robert A. Heinlein. I should have it finished during the upcoming week. It is light reading but fun.

287 days OP, a lifetime to follow.
