Week’s Data
Week 155 Update This morning I stepped up on Mr. Scale at 06:00 and he said, "185.5 pounds!" We are in Spokane this morning and getting ready for the Bloomsday Walk/Run. We have been looking forward to this for over a year and, now the event is just tomorrow. The drive up was fun, even though it was a long drive to do after a full day of work. Tomorrow is the big event for us. Eating and Weight – Last Saturday I weighed 186.5. I still ended up with a high point day at 61.5 points. On Sunday, the scale had dropped to 185.0. So, it looks like I guessed right as to what was going on with my body on Saturday. I ate 46.5 points that day. Monday the scale moved up to 186.0, and so I ate low at 33.5 points. I drank 15 cups of water that day, and didn't snack at all in the evening. Tuesday the scale dropped a half pound to 185.5. I ended up eating 51.0 points for the day. Wednesday I moved up to 187.0 pounds! So, I held my points down to 38.0. Thursday the scale was back down to 186.0. I ate 47.0 points. Friday I was sitting a 186.0 in the morning, and I ate 49.5 points, including some snacking in the car on the 6 hour drive to Spokane. That worked out okay, as my weight fell to 185.5 this morning. Exercise – Saturday, Dotti and I took our 3.1 mile walk. We completed it in 53:16, taking 17:11 per mile. (3.49 mph) That earned 6.72 aerobic points. Sunday we once again did the 3.1 miles, but Dotti was up to walking faster. We took 50:05 and that was 16:09 per mile, over one minute per mile quicker than the day before and giving us a rate of 3.71 mph, and 7.41 aerobic points. Monday the temperature was up and at lunch I did my lunchtime walk alone. I walked 2.4 miles in 34:32 for a pace of 14:23 per mile (4.17 mph). In the evening Dotti and I did our 3.1 mile walk, and it took 50:33, which was nearly as fast as the day before. We took 16:18 per mile and walked at 3.68 mph. That earned 7.30 aerobic points. Tuesday I was on my own again for my lunchtime walk. I walked 2.0 miles in 27:08. That was 13:34 per mile and a rate of 4.42 mph, and it earned 5.84 aerobic points. In the evening Dotti and I did our 3.1 mile walk, and completed it in 52:46. We took 17:01 per mile (3.52 mph), and earned 6.82 aerobic points. That pushed me over 100 miles for the month! Wednesday at lunch I walked on my own, and did 2.0 miles in 26:02. (13:01 per mile and 4.61 mph … 6.21 aerobic points.) Afterwards my walking partner wanted to do a short walk which turned out to be 1.3 miles, which we did in 24:42. (19:00 per mile and 3.16 mph … 1.80 aerobic points.) In the evening Dotti was not feeling very well after taking her medication in the morning, so we didn’t do an evening walk. Thursday at lunch I walked with my walking partner for 2.33 miles, and we completed that in 43:42. (18:45 per mile and 3.20 mph … 4.12 aerobic points. Friday, I knew there wasn’t going to be an evening walk, so lunch was going to be it. I walked 2.0 miles in 27:54. (13:57 per mile and 4.30 mph … 5.60 aerobic points. So, at week’s end, I had earned 58.42 aerobic points, exceeding my goal of 35. I walked a total of 24.43 miles for the week, which also exceeded my goal of 15 miles. Lately I have been shooting for 26.2 miles per week, and I did not reach that one, but I was not far off, and having the evening walks disrupted a bit was the cause. I am sure I will do better next week. For the month, I walked 111.0 miles, beating my total for last month, even though I didn’t walk at all for the first 6 days this month. Water – I drank at least 6 cups each day and I averaged 78.86 ounces (9.8 cups) per day, which which put me over the top of my minimum range of 6 to 8 cups per day. Week's Evaluation – My weigh-ins were in my target range all week, and I got in my exercise and water. So, I consider this week a success! On to Bloomsday… 2 years, 355 days OP; a lifetime to follow. -Al-
