Week 112 Update

It was 04:15 when I stepped up on Mr. Scale, and he said, "184.0 pounds!"

This week was a good one in many ways. I was on vacation all week, and that is always a good thing. We got two really good walks in as well as some walking around while shopping. My points per day dropped down from 60.00 to 52.29, or a total of about 54 points for the week. That is nearly a pound's worth of points and so it the scale followed my eating pretty closely. The only scary part of that is that the data for this week shows that I should be eating 60.0 points per day to maintain at 185.0. We have been doing some nice walks but I don't know if I am ready to believe 60 points a day for maintenance just yet. I will wait and see what a few weeks of data show me.

We had a nice trip to the coast, had a few days of downtime without any stress, and it was very much needed and enjoyed. When things get hectic, there is nothing like quiet time with your best friend to calm the nerves.

For eating this week, I started off at 185.0, which is right where I want to be. I ate 44.0 points that day, which seemed like a good conservative number. On Sunday, the scale said 185.0 again. We drove to the coat that day, and with the road snacks and all, I ate 56.0 points. On Monday the scale dropped to 184.5. I didn't respond as I should have, and I only ate 40.0 points. On Tuesday, the scale dropped to 182.5. Like a trooper I went after it, and I ate 81.5 points. The scale responded with 184.0 on Wednesday. I ate 53.0 points, which is seeming like a conservative number these days. Thursday before leaving Lincoln City, I weighed 184.0. We drove back early enough for Dotti to get to her bowling league, but the way things worked out, I only ate 2 real meals and at the end of the day, I had only eaten 41.0 points. The scale dropped on Friday morning to 182.5 again. I ate 52.5 points, and the scale moved back up to 184.0.

For exercise this week, on Saturday we did a 5 mile hike that included a climb of about 1,600 feet. I counted it as 16.5 aerobic points. On Sunday we drove over to the coast and didn't really get any exercise of consequence. On Monday, we drove south to Newport and we did a fair amount of walking. We walked along the waterfront to the Undersea Gardens, the Wax Works, and Ripley's Believe it or Not. The most memorable thing of all three of them was a cool room at the end of Ripley's that looked like it was a bottomless pit with little lights all around it in the walls. It was pitch black and simulated how you would fell stepping out into space. It was not something that we wanted to just walk into. I tested the floor with my foot before stepping down on it. Although I walked through the room to reach the exit, and even around on various parts of the floor, I never quite felt safe. It was a very eerie feeling. After we walked back to our car, we then drove on to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, where we did quite a lot more walking to see all the exhibits of the sea creatures they have on display. On Tuesday, we had a serious hike. We walked 5 miles along the beach, and then 4 miles back on the road. At the end of that walk I was exhausted, sore, and I knew that I had done some exercise. That one gave me 21.4 aerobic points. We then walked to dinner that night. On Wednesday we walked 2.3 miles while shopping. Thursday we drove back home, and the only walking I got in was a visit to Costco. On Friday I relaxed. So for the week I was fairly active and earned 40.9 aerobic points.

For water I was not so good this week. I only averaged 32 ounces (4 cups) a day. I will have to do better this coming week!

2 years, 54 days OP; a lifetime to follow.
